All four London NEC members were present at the birth of the new Photographers’ branch on Tuesday 26 January. The timing could not be better, just 3 days after professional and amateur photographers had gathered in Trafalgar Square to protest against ‘terror stop and searches’.
Around 60 members packed into the 5th floor meeting room at Headland House, agreed a set of branch standing orders and elected a branch committee to get the branch off the ground. Jess Herd was elected chair and Marc Vallée (one of the organisers of Saturday’s protest) branch secretary.
All four of us have offered to help the new branch in any way we can in the future and wish our newest branch well for the future. There will be no shortage of issues for them to get tuck into!
